Yes. Both input methods operate simultaneously. Use the capacitive touch screen when convenient, then switch to physical buttons if your hands are wet, dirty, or gloved.
Most systems have a house bank and a starter bank. Traditional monitors force you to choose one. K5™ monitors both simultaneously with independent state-of-charge calculations.
K5 adds: native dual-bank monitoring, 3.5" color touchscreen, WiFi, RGB status LEDs, haptic feedback, MicroSD logging, 4 tank inputs, and future VE.Direct integration. Victron BMV-712 is a proven workhorse with excellent software, but has a smaller monochrome display, no WiFi, no touchscreen, and no tank monitoring.
K5 is built on established components:
INA228 20-bit precision ADC, Corning Gorilla Glass, CNC 6061-T6 aluminium, and TCXO real-time clock. 2-year warranty. Lifetime OTA firmware updates. Engineered in Germany.
Hardware is ready. VE.Direct functionality will be enabled in v1.5 firmware (Q2 2026). You'll be able to display MPPT and charger data directly on your K5™.
KALION K5 (assembled, tested), CR2032 backup battery (pre-installed), panel mounting template (1:1 scale), spare M2 stainless steel mounting screws ×4, spare IP65 silicone gasket, and Quick Start Guide (EN, DE, FR, ES, IT). KALION K5-SHUNT-DUAL (sold separately).
Yes — K5 uses external precision shunts for maximum measurement accuracy. The shunts connect to dedicated screw terminals on the K5 via 4-wire Kelvin sense connections. You can use the KALION K5-SHUNT-DUAL (sold separately or in a bundle) or any compatible precision shunt.
2-year limited warranty covering defects. Lifetime firmware updates via WiFi OTA. Email support with 24-48 hour response time.
K5™ natively monitors 2 banks. For 3+ banks, you can use multiple K5™ units or wait for our future KALION K10™ model (4-bank capable, planned Q3 2026).
